Hanji Zoe

Attack on Titan / Shingeki no kyojin
The first sprite is done... As with writing the game itself drawing Hanji had a lot of hit-and-miss's. Maybe she isn't that well proportioned, but I'm satisfied with the results! MUCH better than the previous digitalisation attempt :) Still have a long way to go before I can finish this project, but definitely worth the time! Makes me really happy just working on this :D

Attack on Titan sketches

Chibi colossal titan, chibi hanji zoe, city. Shingeki no kyojin.
WIP
I've been working on this project for an entire day. Like from 9am to 3am. Of course it's not like I never took a break... I'm trying out Scratch, trying to make a simple game for an assignment. It's giving me a serious headache, but since I've come this far, I thought I might as well do it well. No experience with vectors so not sure how the digitalisation's gonna turn out tho!
I'm trying for a little frame-by-frame motion, to give my game a little bit of life. Really hope this turns out well! :)

Realistic eye part 2

from here!  https://courses.edx.org/courses/HarvardX/CS50x3/2015/courseware/43d165ac1d974f20a55585da76d39277/e756f29f611141889db4ee70027ef7e9/
I guess there are still a lot of problems, but this is definitely a grade up from attempt 1! (:
Haha hope I'll be able to do a series of photo-real Snk characters... see how?
(Made entirely with paintbrush)

Chinese New Year

It's probably quite a while away actually. But there's nothing better than welcoming in another festive season! It looks pretty different but the tutorial was from here http://liagriffith.com/diy-paper-gardenia/ . The back petals were individually cut, each of the petals about A4 size. Excited for reunion dinner ^^

Realistic eye

Attempt number 1! I guess this person has super mascara or smt. Done entirely with paint tool in photoshop. I guess her eyes aren't as glossy as they should be? Did it from a tutorial, original pin here http://www.pinterest.com/pin/402931497883698456/
The painting style here isn't very detailed either..

Attack on Titan

Heheh my first time touching photoshop in like 2 years. I know. Looks pretty plastic, but I'll work on it! >< This is one thing I want to get right :) Recognise the characters? Eren Jaeger and Levi (Revai/Revaille) Ackerman from Shingeki no Kyojin (Snk) also Attack on Titan (Aot). Wow too many names. I've been reading their reincarnation/modern au doujinshi and I can't help crying every time :'( Anyway the two are sitting under a willow tree, a symbol of second life. Their images are fading, the happy times they cannot share born into a world of titans T_T

Calculator

Heheh after cleaning my room I found this spoilt (more like broken) calculator, and decided to completely tear it apart! I can't really think of what to do with all of this, but I guess for now It'll be sleeping in a little corner in my room until my next spring cleaning :)
I used a pair of pliers to pluck out the plastic parts holding the casing to the circuit (board?) together, ripping out most of the plastic in the process

WIP

His jacket should slant outwards instead of inwards right? Left hand a little too small too :P
First time trying the copic ciao markers! My shading is pretty bad, and the jeans are wrong. But I guess it's passable for a first try?

Pastels

Finally finished a second sketching! For some reason the colour always look a little off in the scan.. I have to say the lining has a HUGE problem (should have used a pen instead). I think the umbrella has bad shading too? I should have shaded in a shadow from the edges, to give this curved look. I would have liked the umbrella to have the same cool colour (blue) as her necklace and lace. Her bow should also have that blue too. Instead of colours with different pencils, I should have just used different intensities right? I'm not quite sure about that one.. Her hands (at least her right hand) are small and alien-y. Left eye should be smaller 'cos she's smiling. When I colour with pastel the old pencil lines can be seen through - is there anything I can do about it?
Why can I only tell these things after I've scanned them? ):
But I think the background turned out pretty well (the trees). The shading and eyes don't look as crazy as the last time either, so I would call that an improvement? (:
sketchings (without shading/the lineart) always look kinda scary. Those empty eyes and lifeless skin.
Used normal pencil and eraser for the sketching. Of course colouring and outline of the girl is with pastel pencils. Highlight in eyes and cheeks are done with acrylic and applied with dotting tool (just cos I already have one). Lighter shades in colouring done with the help of electric eraser (from Daiso). The makes-be-happy-blue pen's from typo heheh(: For the background used pastel then rubbed/smudged with tissue paper. Also used dry pastel (Daiso also) applied with brush. The circular  patches and some wider highlights in background done with help of soft eraser.
So excited! ^^

Camera

Polymer clay: camera (miniature)
Canon E-x1
I should not have glazed the black body. It kind of obscures the texture. But it's my first time using the pod podge dimensional magic and it worked pretty well! I'd love a more domed shape (and this is after two coats), but it set nicely, showing the colours beneath it!

shoes

I know, the horse takes up way to much space. way too much space. It doesn't even look like a horse D':  painted these for my jie jie. Really crossing my fingers for this one, but I hope she'll like it!

Heart

Polymer clay: Human Heart (realistic)
Cool right? To be honest I could never remember the pulmonary blood vessels, much less figure out how they overlap each other, so the little vessels on the extreme right and left of the heart are there just to fill the image of the heart - I don't think they actually exist :P
This is entirely red clay. After I baked the piece I painted it with a coat of diluted black acrylic, then immediately wiped it down with tissue. Then I did some extra touch-up with red and black acrylic.
I tried to have this moist effect on the heart, so I applied a pretty thick layer of the Sculpey glaze, but it turned out so wrong. Glaze does not dry transparent. It's kind of yellow with a lot of bubbles (probably because I applied it with a coarse brush). Maybe I should have used a little bit of mod podge dimensional magic instead then glazed it over..

Rabbit(:

Polymer clay: wood effect.
Actually some of the black-ish clay on my hand accidentally mixed in, so it ended up looking like that. I kind of find it annoying how the clay has glitter in it, but i guess it worked out this time:)
this bunny is supposed to be part of my sibling's christmas present

Sketching

I've been wanting to learn to draw for a long time, so now that the school hols are coming hope I can find more time to work on it!
Yay(:
Amagi Brilliant Park, Sento
By far my favourite anime this fall^^

control over the liner was horrible D: looks like some crappy digital drawing.. and the colours too ahhh her skin looks like its rotting :'( Her eyes aren't as dark or well-blended as it should be too..
Either way hoping I can learn to just digitalise it directly, would save the sketching right?

Goals: learn to sketch, paint, then digitalize
