Finally finished a second sketching! For some reason the colour always look a little off in the scan.. I have to say the lining has a HUGE problem (should have used a pen instead). I think the umbrella has bad shading too? I should have shaded in a shadow from the edges, to give this curved look. I would have liked the umbrella to have the same cool colour (blue) as her necklace and lace. Her bow should also have that blue too. Instead of colours with different pencils, I should have just used different intensities right? I'm not quite sure about that one.. Her hands (at least her right hand) are small and alien-y. Left eye should be smaller 'cos she's smiling. When I colour with pastel the old pencil lines can be seen through - is there anything I can do about it?
Why can I only tell these things after I've scanned them? ):
But I think the background turned out pretty well (the trees). The shading and eyes don't look as crazy as the last time either, so I would call that an improvement? (:
sketchings (without shading/the lineart) always look kinda scary. Those empty eyes and lifeless skin.
Used normal pencil and eraser for the sketching. Of course colouring and outline of the girl is with pastel pencils. Highlight in eyes and cheeks are done with acrylic and applied with dotting tool (just cos I already have one). Lighter shades in colouring done with the help of electric eraser (from Daiso). The makes-be-happy-blue pen's from typo heheh(: For the background used pastel then rubbed/smudged with tissue paper. Also used dry pastel (Daiso also) applied with brush. The circular patches and some wider highlights in background done with help of soft eraser.
So excited! ^^
